My Step-Führer and the Gun
My 86-year-old Step-Führer has a handgun. Actually, it is my mother’s gun, given to her by a cop she dated over 40 years ago. Luckily, she has no access to it, as pre-dementia and weaponry don’t play well together. Neither of them has ever fired it. I want the gun for target practice, but my Step-Führer likes "having a gun in the house." He said he would give me his .22 rifle, but I want to try the .38.

I had planned on getting copies of Dianna's and Chad's pictures, and then editing them together with mine to make a really cool video, but Chad already posted one. If I worked at my normal speed, by the time I finished you would all be bored with this and deep into eggnog, so here's what I have. An article about Double Negative, and it's pretty good.
It brings up some interesting points about how land art can be always new to the viewer, in the way that painting is not and how we couldn't even make this kind of work today.

This site will serve what purpose?
Let's talk about this concept of art in motel rooms and how this art event is different–and how to keep making it STAND OUT. What're we doing in these motel rooms, hmmm?? How much interest has there been? What's it like to attend this thing? Can other cities get involved? Who pays what to whom? When is check out time? If we find porn under the bed do we keep it?
People have a lot of questions to ask so ask away–or answer away–hell, do both.

Serendipity Gets It Upity
serendipity gets it uppity for me because it can feel great to be out of control, not calling the shots, that can feel great. I like art in that way and art making, you know, when a drip just works. Usually it turns out the 'accident' was better than you possibly could have planned out. Well, that's kinda how this show should be seen. 50 artists have exhibitions in rooms next to each other, there's gonna be some juxtaposed serendipity gettin' it uppity in hee-ah.
